Beschrijving voorzijde The central field features the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau, depicting a shield with a crowned sea god holding a trident accompanied by a mermaid, set against waves, with a crescent moon and star above; the inscription RAINBOW'S END appears within the lower portion of the shield. A traditional Palauan canoe is depicted above the shield as the crest. Eight six-pointed stars flank the shield on either side. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper rim in raised Latin letters, while the denomination 1$ appears in the lower field beneath the arms.

Aanvullende informatie

Palau has issued commemorative dollars under licensing arrangements since the late 1990s, producing a high volume of gold-plated copper pieces aimed squarely at the thematic collector market rather than circulation. KM#650 sits in a long run of such issues. Without confirmed specifics on which "historic meeting" this piece commemorates, overstating its significance would be a disservice to the catalog.
