Aanvullende informatie

Alien Baltan — the lobster-clawed villain who debuted in the second episode of the original 1966 Tokutatsu series — became so popular with Japanese audiences that he was brought back repeatedly despite Ultraman's producers originally intending him as a one-off. This coin is part of Tuvalu's licensed commemorative program issued through the Perth Mint, which throughout the mid-2000s became the primary vehicle for Japanese pop-culture silver rounds seeking the credibility of a sovereign issuer.

Tuvalu's arrangement with Perth was purely commercial; the island nation's own monetary needs were negligible.
