| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse features the fourth-effigy right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, positioned in the lower left quadrant of the square flan. The legend 'NIUE ISLAND' runs vertically along the left border, with the denomination '1 DOLLAR' inscribed above the portrait. The lower field bears the inscriptions 'ELIZABETH II' at left and the date '2012' at right. Occupying the upper and central right portions of the obverse is an elaborate gold-gilded acanthus scroll ornament in high relief, above a detailed architectural rendering of a neoclassical building facade with ornamental iron railings, also partially gilt. The fineness mark 'Ag 925' and the Mint of Poland mintmark appear in the lower left field. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse displays a full-color reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci's celebrated painting 'Lady with an Ermine' (circa 1489-1490), rendered as a colored insert set within the center of the square flan. The composition depicts a young noblewoman in three-quarter profile, dressed in Renaissance attire with a black hairband, cradling a white ermine in her arms. The legend 'LADY WITH AN ERMINE' runs vertically in gilt lettering along the left border, and the Polish-language equivalent 'DAMA Z GRONOSTAJEM' appears vertically along the right border. A gold-gilded acanthus scroll ornamental motif decorates the far right column of the reverse field. |
