Obverse description The obverse of this oval proof coin features the fourth-effigy right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, set within an elaborate Baroque-style scrollwork cartouche occupying the upper central field. Below the portrait, the legend ELIZABETH II arcs in raised Latin letters. In the lower half of the coin, a detailed high-relief rendition of the Bouquet of Lilies Fabergé egg surprise is depicted — a wicker basket overflowing with floral blooms, flanked by symmetrical decorative feathered or foliate mounts. The legends NIUE ISLAND arc along the upper rim, with 1 DOLLAR to the left and 2012 to the right, all in raised Latin characters. The Ag 925 fineness mark appears at the bottom of the field.
