Charles III's coinage portrait — sculpted by Martin Jennings — made its Australian debut in 2024, replacing the Jody Clark effigy that had served since 2015. The Wedge Tailed Eagle dollar is among the first Australian silver bullion issues to carry the new effigy, making it a transitional type in the series regardless of its otherwise routine annual production.
