The word LIBERTY appears on the coronet or tiara adorning the head. The legend E PLURIBUS UNUM arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 1880 is placed in the lower field. A border of fine beading encircles the entire design, consistent with the refined finish typical of United States Mint pattern coinage of this period. |
