Reverse description The reverse displays a Persian-script legend in a hammered, somewhat retrograde arrangement, referencing Muzaffar Shah III of Gujarat as the overlord under whom this issue was struck. The legend is arranged across the flan in multiple lines, with characteristic cursive Naskh-style letterforms rendered in low relief on the irregular copper flan. The strike is typical of provincial hammered coinage, with uneven pressure resulting in variable depth of design across the surface. A variant with fully retrograde reverse legend is also documented for this type.
