| Aanvullende informatie |
The General Women's Union was founded in 1975 under the direct patronage of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, wife of UAE founding president Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Its establishment was a deliberate state-building measure, aimed at integrating Emirati women into civic and professional life during the country's first decade of existence. The silver jubilee issue marks twenty-five years of that mandate.
Copper-nickel commemoratives of this type saw limited secondary circulation in the UAE — most were absorbed by collectors or gifted institutionally.
