Reverse description Hammered copper reverse bearing a two-line Arabic legend in Nasta'liq script centered in the field, reading 'Zarb Shahjahanabad' (struck at Shahjahanabad) in the upper register, followed by 'Sanah [Regnal Year]' in the lower register indicating the year of issue within Aurangzeb's reign. The field is plain with no decorative border, and the flan edge is irregular and ragged as typical of Mughal copper coinage of this period. The strike is moderately sharp at the center with some weakness toward the periphery. The surface exhibits a dark brown patina consistent with prolonged circulation.
