| Obverse description | Hammered copper flan bearing a three-line Arabic legend in bold Naskh script occupying the central field, reading 'Aurangzeb / Alamgir / Badshah Ghazi' (Emperor Aurangzeb, the World Conqueror, the Warrior King). The lettering is struck in high relief against a plain, unadorned field, characteristic of Mughal copper coinage. The flan is irregular at the rim, as typical of hand-struck dam issues, with the legend occasionally running close to or off the edge. The overall style is consistent with late Mughal copper struck at provincial mints during the reign of Aurangzeb. |
