Reverse description A stylised double maple twig bearing two leaves and a stem, as designed by George Kruger Gray, occupies the central field. The denomination 1 CENT appears above the maple twig, while the country name CANADA and the date are inscribed along the lower periphery. The design is rendered with crisp, well-defined relief typical of Specimen finish coinage, with sharp detail on the leaf veining and branch work.
