Obverse description The Ghanaian coat of arms is displayed prominently on the copper-nickel inner disc, featuring two Ghanaian eagles as supporters flanking a quartered shield, surmounted by a black star, with a scroll below bearing the national motto 'FREEDOM AND JUSTICE AND'. The legend 'GHANA' arcs along the upper portion of the brass outer ring, while the date '2018' appears in the lower portion of the ring. Decorative floral and foliate motifs embellish the left and right sides of the outer ring. The Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) appears in the field below the coat of arms.

Additional information

Ghana's Lunar Series issues were produced for the collector export market, not domestic circulation — the 1 Cedi face value is nominal against production cost, and these pieces were never intended to pass through Ghanaian commerce. The Rooster year falls in the 2017 cycle of the Chinese lunisolar calendar, making this a 2018-dated issue struck retroactively for a year already underway.
