The characters are boldly cast in raised relief with well-defined strokes characteristic of Northern Song regular script calligraphy. A plain outer rim borders the coin, and the flat field between the inner square rim and the outer rim is unadorned. The surface exhibits an attractive olive-brown patina with patches of green cuprite corrosion.
