| Obverse description | Central square perforation surrounded by a plain raised inner rim, with four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in the four cardinal positions around the central hole, reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left: 至和通寶 (Zhihe Tongbao). The characters are rendered in a clean, formal regular script typical of Northern Song imperial coinage. A raised outer rim borders the flat coin field, the whole surface showing characteristic patination of cast bronze. |
