The four characters 景興通寶 (Cảnh Hưng Thông Bảo) occupy the cardinal positions around the central hole, set within a plain inner rim and an outer raised border. The legends are rendered in a bold, slightly archaic calligraphic style typical of Vietnamese Lê dynasty cast coinage.
