| Reverse description | Two crossed keys, the traditional symbol of ecclesiastical authority and the arms of the Bishopric of Dorpat, displayed beneath a horizontal bar or lump, all set within a beaded inner circle. The composition is rendered in the bold, schematic style characteristic of Livonian artig coinage. A surrounding circular legend in uncial Latin lettering reads MONETN · TARBAT ·, identifying the coin as the currency of Dorpat (Tartu). The irregular flan and variable strike are consistent with hammered manufacture of the period. |
