| Reverse description | A crowned rampant lion, the heraldic lion of Denmark, occupies the central field within a raised inner circle. The beast is depicted facing left with a curled tail and raised forepaws, rendered in a bold, stylized manner consistent with mid-17th-century hammered silver coinage. The mint-master's initials appear at the base of the design within the inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend DOMINUS PROVIDEBIT, punctuated by decorative stops and floral ornaments, encircles the design, with the date 1649 (or 1650) incorporated into the legend. |
