The inscription is rendered in Latin capitals characteristic of early 18th-century Habsburg coinage. |

Joseph I's reign coincided with the War of the Spanish Succession, and Austrian mint output during 1707 was under considerable strain as the Habsburgs simultaneously fought on multiple fronts while pressing Joseph's claim to the Spanish throne. St. Veit — the Carinthian mint operating out of Sankt Veit an der Glan — was one of the older Habsburg provincial facilities, and its output for this period is notably sparse in surviving records.
