| Reverse description | The reverse of this hammered klippe presents an essentially blank, unadorned field, heavily worn and pitted with surface corrosion consistent with prolonged circulation and burial. No legend, device, or inscription is discernible, the flat surface bearing only the textured marks of the hammering process and subsequent deterioration of the silver flan. This featureless reverse is characteristic of certain emergency or expedient klippe issues of the period, where the reverse die was either not applied or has been completely effaced by wear. |
