| Reverse description | A crowned rampant lion, the royal arms of Norway, occupies the central field, flanked by the mint master's initials F and G (for Frederik Gyldenstierne) below the lion's forepaws. The central device is encircled by a finely engraved wreath of laurel and oak branches. The peripheral Latin legend DOMINUS PROVIDEBIT, meaning 'The Lord will provide', runs around the outer border, interrupted by the date 1663 at the base of the coin between the wreath ties. A beaded border frames the entire design. |
