| Obverse description | Uncrowned, bare-headed effigy of King Edward VII facing right, with a short beard and moustache, rendered in high relief after the portrait by engraver George William de Saulles. The truncation of the bust is clean, with the engraver's initials 'DE S.' appearing at the base. The circular legend reads EDWARD VII KING AND EMPEROR, disposed around the upper and lower periphery, separated by the bust. The field is smooth and unadorned, and the design is enclosed by a fine inner border of beads. |

| Reverse description | Central field bears a five-line inscription giving the denomination and issuing authority in both Latin and Urdu scripts, surmounted by a small imperial crown. Decorative floral sprays extend to the left and right of the central inscription, framing the design. The date appears at the foot of the inscription. The entire design is contained within a beaded border, consistent with the milled coinage standard of British India. |
