Obverse description Crowned Gothic royal monogram of Enrique IV occupying the central field, surmounted by an elaborate crown with fleur-de-lis finials rendered in the late medieval Castilian style. The monogram is formed by interlaced Gothic letters within a beaded inner circle. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, separated from it by a beaded border, the whole struck on a characteristic irregular flan produced by the hammered technique.
