Four small heraldic lions appear at the principal points within the foliate tressure, referencing the arms of Flanders. A beaded inner circle separates the central device from the surrounding legend, which is inscribed in Gothic uncial lettering with decorative stops, reading: ✠ EXALTABITVR : IN : GLORIA (He will be exalted in glory). The outer edge is defined by a raised beaded rim consistent with the hammered technique of the period. |
