Reverse description Central design featuring an elaborate Gothic floral or cross-like motif within a cusped multifoil inner circle, composed of intricate interlaced vine or foliate scrollwork rendered in the fine hammered style characteristic of late medieval Flemish gold coinage. Four small heraldic lions appear at the principal points within the foliate tressure, referencing the arms of Flanders. A beaded inner circle separates the central device from the surrounding legend, which is inscribed in Gothic uncial lettering with decorative stops, reading: ✠ EXALTABITVR : IN : GLORIA (He will be exalted in glory). The outer edge is defined by a raised beaded rim consistent with the hammered technique of the period.
