| Popis líce | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a multi-line Arabic religious legend in bold naskh script, arranged in three horizontal registers separated by finely incised dividing lines. The upper register bears the shahada (declaration of faith), the middle register continues with the name of the Prophet Muhammad as Messenger of God, and the lower register carries the Shia profession acknowledging Ali as the Friend of God. Decorative foliate pellet ornaments fill the interstices between the registers, lending the composition a lively, densely calligraphic character typical of late Zand-period hammered gold coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly scalloped at the periphery, consistent with hand-struck manufacture. |
