| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field features the Swiss cross in relief above the denomination '1/4 Fr.' in large stylised characters. The legend 'HELVETIA' arcs along the upper rim in bold capital letters. The fineness 'AU 999.9' appears on the lower left, the mintmark 'B' (Bern) at the bottom centre, and 'OZ 1/500' on the lower right, indicating the coin's fractional troy ounce weight. The design is minimal and geometric, with all inscriptions rendered in Latin script against a smooth proof field. |

Issued by Swissmint as part of its "Gold Micro" program, this is among the smallest gold coins ever produced for legal tender — a category where Swiss precision manufacturing has no serious competitor. At under a tenth of a gram, producing a legible, well-defined coin at this scale required tooling tolerances that push against the practical limits of modern die-cutting.
Einstein's Swiss citizenship, obtained in 1901 and never renounced, gives Swissmint legitimate claim to the subject.
