| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Edward VII, modelled in high relief with finely detailed facial features including a full beard and moustache. The truncation of the bust is cleanly cut at the lower edge of the coin. The legend EDWARD VII KING & EMPEROR curves around the upper and right periphery in raised Latin letters. The left field carries the continuation of the legend, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. The portrait closely follows the de Saulles model used on circulating British Indian coinage of the period. |

| Reverse description | Central inscription ONE QUARTER ANNA INDIA 1908 arranged in five horizontal lines within a decorative circular wreath of ornate floral and foliate scrollwork. The wreath design features intertwining vine-like branches with stylised leaves and blossoms radiating symmetrically from the base to the top of the inner circle. A beaded border frames the outermost edge of the design. The date 1908 appears at the foot of the central inscription. The overall design is consistent with the standard reverse type used for British Indian quarter anna patterns of this era. |
