Obverse description The Anhalt bear, the heraldic emblem of the principality, depicted passant left atop a crenellated castle wall or rampart, rendered in bold relief. The bear is shown in profile with detailed fur engraving, its raised forepaw characteristic of the Anhalt armorial tradition. No peripheral legend is present; the design fills the coin field entirely. The battlemented masonry beneath the bear is rendered in careful detail, serving as a direct reference to the arms of Bernburg.
