| Obverse description | Left-facing portrait bust of Yuan Shikai rendered in high relief, depicting the president in military uniform with an epaulette bearing three stars visible on the right shoulder and a decorative medal at the lower left. The effigy is boldly modelled in a naturalistic style characteristic of the engraver Luigi Giorgi, whose signature 'L.GIORGI' appears in the right field near the rim. A circular legend in Chinese characters arcs above the portrait reading 中華民國三年 (Year 3 of the Republic of China), and a beaded border runs along the entire circumference. |
