Reverse description A dolphin or fish-shaped galley prow depicted in right-facing profile, rendered in a schematic provincial style characteristic of southwestern Iberian coinage. The hull and oar-bank details are summarily indicated. The legend SISBE · A · S is distributed around the central device in a combination of Southwestern script and Latin characters. The overall composition reflects the maritime identity of the issuing city of Salacia, an important coastal settlement of Roman Lusitania. The flan is irregular and the relief somewhat flat due to the hammered technique.
