Obverse description Facing bust of Naser al-Din Shah wearing a tall Qajar crown adorned with jewels, dressed in a military uniform with decorative collar. The effigy is flanked on either side by a wreath of laurel branches issuing from the base, encircling the lower portion of the design. Two cartouches bearing Arabic script legends appear in the upper left and right fields flanking the crown. The portrait is rendered in a formal, stylized manner characteristic of Qajar court coinage.
