表面の説明	Central field features the royal cypher of Christian VII, formed by two interlaced and mirrored Cs beneath a royal crown, flanked on either side by mirrored stylized numeral 7s. The denomination value '1/2 SP' is incorporated into the design at the sides of the cypher. The entire device is encircled by a beaded border and the peripheral legend, rendered in Latin capitals.

追加情報	Christian VII ruled Denmark-Norway in name only for most of his reign — declared mentally incompetent, real power passed first to his physician Johann Friedrich Struensee, then to his stepmother Juliane Marie following Struensee's arrest and execution in 1772. The half speciedaler of 1776–1779 was therefore struck under the effective regency of the Bernstorff-led council, not under any meaningful royal authority. The Kongsberg mint, which produced this issue, was funded almost entirely by the output of the Kongsberg silver mines — at the time still among the most productive in Europe, though declining sharply from their mid-century peak.
