Reverse description The denomination and currency designation are inscribed in four horizontal lines across the central field, reading '1/2', 'SKILLING', 'SKILLEMYNT', and the date '1839', with two small rosette ornaments flanking the fraction. Below the date, a crossed hammer and pick — the traditional symbol of the Kongsberg Mint — appears in the lower field. On the KM#305.2 variety, a small star is placed beneath the mint symbol. The plain border frames the entire design.
