| Obverse description | The field is divided horizontally by a raised line, with the Persian royal legend arranged in two registers across the coin. The upper register bears the name and title of the Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II in bold nasta'liq script, reading 'Sikka Mubarak Badshah Ghazi Shah Alam' (The auspicious coin of the victorious Emperor Shah Alam). The lower register continues the legend with the regnal year above. Privy marks, including dot clusters and lozenge devices, are visible in the field flanking the inscription, serving as mint or assayer identification marks. |
