Obverse description The obverse displays a bold Persian legend inscribed in the Nastaliq script, arranged in two registers separated by a horizontal line across the field. The upper register bears the imperial regnal formula 'Sikka Mubarak Badshah Ghazi Akbar Shah' (The auspicious coin of the victorious Emperor Akbar Shah), executed in large, flowing calligraphy characteristic of late Mughal hammered coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, as typical of hand-struck half rupees of this period. The field shows the grainy, textured surface produced by the hammering technique, with scattered pellet ornaments visible around the legend.
