Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line Persian legend in Nasta'liq script, reading the regnal formula of Mughal Emperor Alamgir II: the auspicious coin of the Victorious Emperor, Chosen of the Faith of Muhammad, Alamgir, with the Hijri date 1172 incorporated into the legend.
