Obverse description Central field bearing the imperial name of Emperor Muhammad Akbar rendered in bold Naskh-style Arabic calligraphy, occupying the majority of the flan. The inscription is arranged in two or three lines within a circular border of dots or pellets typical of Mughal hammered coinage. The irregular flan and characteristic hand-struck appearance are consistent with late 16th-century Kabul mint production.
