Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of King Carl XIV Johan facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curly hair. The truncation of the neck is plain and unadorned. A circular Latin legend runs continuously around the periphery of the field, separated from the coin's edge by a toothed border. The portrait is executed in a neoclassical style characteristic of early nineteenth-century Swedish coinage, engraved by Ludvig Persson Lundgren.
