| Obverse description | Facing crowned bust of Juan II (John II of Aragon) depicted in a Gothic style, wearing a crown surmounted by a cross fleury, with long hair falling to the shoulders and a draped garment visible at the truncation. Below the bust, a small heraldic device is visible in the lower field. The effigy is rendered in the flat, stylised manner characteristic of late medieval Aragonese hammered coinage.
