| 正面描述 | Central field features the crowned royal arms of Portugal — the Portuguese escutcheon with the quinas (five shields arranged in a cross) enclosed within a shield surmounted by a royal crown — all set within a beaded inner circle. Flanking the shield on either side at mid-field are the mint marks 'O' and 'O', denoting the Lisboa mint. The surrounding legend in Latin reads outward from the inner circle and is separated from the coin's milled rim by a continuous beaded border. The lettering is deeply struck in the characteristic uneven style of early sixteenth-century hammered coinage. |
