Reverse description The reverse bears a three-line legend in Devanagari script arranged horizontally across the field, reading 'Sri Pra / ta pa Chyu ta / ra ya', a transliteration of the royal name and epithet of the ruler Achyutaraya. The inscription is contained within a plain, undecorated field and is struck in the characteristic shallow relief of hammered Vijayanagara gold issues. The lettering, though compact and somewhat irregular due to the hand-struck flan, remains legible and follows the epigraphic conventions of early sixteenth-century South Indian coinage.
