Additional information

Pattern strikes for Oscar I's proposed half-öre were produced in anticipation of a decimal coinage reform that never fully materialized on his watch — Sweden wouldn't complete its metric monetary transition until the 1870s. These pieces exist because the government was actively testing denominations and sizes during the early 1850s, not because any production run was planned imminently.

The copper fabric and reduced weight distinguish these trials from the heavier cast-iron and bronze experimental pieces of the same period.
