Obverse description Central field dominated by a large Gothic letter 'S', rendered in raised relief and enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The 'S' is flanked by decorative elements characteristic of late medieval Swedish hammered coinage. Surrounding the beaded circle is a circular legend in uncial Latin characters reading S *SCS ° ERICVS °°° REXX, invoking Saint Erik, patron saint of Sweden, separated by pellet stops and rosette ornaments. The coin's irregular flan and hand-struck execution are typical of 15th-century Stockholm mint production.
