Obverse description Half-length figure of the Grand Master facing forward, holding a sword in the right hand and a shield in the left, dividing the date at either side of the figure. The armorial shield bears the cross of the Livonian Order. The effigy is flanked by the numerals of the date and enclosed within a circular Latin legend along the periphery.

Reverse description A fortified castle gateway rendered in detailed relief, surmounted by two crossed keys, the traditional arms of the city of Riga, all within a circular Latin legend along the periphery. The architectural motif is depicted with crenellated towers and an arched gate, characteristic of the hammered coinage of the Livonian Order.
