Reverse description A large, elaborate fleur-de-lis occupies the central field, rendered in the ornate Gothic style characteristic of Aragonese florin coinage, with boldly scrolling petals and fine interior detailing. The design fills nearly the entire flan, consistent with the Florentine-inspired florin type adopted across the Crown of Aragon. A partial Latin legend is arranged around the periphery reading ARAGO REX AL, identifying Alfonso V as King of Aragon. The coin's irregular flan results in portions of the legend being weakly struck or missing at the edges.
