Obverse description Persian inscription in Arabic script arranged in two lines across the field, divided by a horizontal line. The legend reads 'Alamgir' above and the regnal year AH 1177 below. The script is rendered in the characteristically compact, cursive style typical of small Mughal gold fanam coinage, with the inscription occupying nearly the entire flan.
