| Reverse description | Central field bearing a multi-line Kufic Arabic inscription arranged in horizontal registers, recording the name of the Aghlabid emir Ibrahim II and the mint or date formula. The script is bold and angular, consistent with the epigraphic style of late 9th-century North African Islamic coinage. A fragmentary marginal legend is partially visible along the irregular rim. The overall layout follows the standard aniconic design of Abbasid-influenced provincial silver coinage, with no ornamental devices beyond the inscriptions themselves. The flan is slightly buckled and shows a small fissure across the field. |
