| Reverse description | Central square field bearing multi-line Arabic religious legends in Kufic and Naskh scripts arranged in horizontal registers within a double dotted square border, continuing the Almohad typological tradition. The marginal inscription runs around all four sides of the outer annular field, separated by a beaded inner border. The reverse inscription carries Quranic phrases and the Hafsid ruler's titles, the entire surface densely covered with calligraphic text in a style consistent with North African Hafsid gold coinage of the mid-13th century. |
