Reverse description A detailed Gothic-style castle of Castile, rendered with multiple towers and battlements, enclosed within an eight-lobed (octolobed) inner border. The castle is depicted with characteristic medieval architectural detail, including arched doorways and crenellations. A circular Latin legend surrounds the composition, partially legible on this irregularly struck flan. The mint initial for Jaén appears within or adjacent to the design.
