Obverse description Vertically divided Renaissance shield bearing the arms of Lucerne: the dexter half hatched (representing blue), the sinister half plain (representing white). An eagle displayed faces left above the shield. The field is framed by a circular legend in Gothic lettering, with the letter 'M' rendered in Antiqua script as a distinctive stylistic feature.

Reverse description Front-facing bust of Saint Leodegar (Léger), patron saint of Lucerne, shown in episcopal regalia. The saint wears an elaborately embroidered mitre and holds his attribute, a hand drill (auger), in his right hand. The bust is rendered in a late Gothic style typical of early sixteenth-century Swiss municipal coinage, and is surrounded by a circular legend in Gothic minuscule lettering.
